After reviewing for a while, somebody tapped my shoulder, saying: “What are you doing here, Joe?”
I looked around and saw our Chaplain, Capt. Jose Bozor, smiling.
I said: “Reviewing for the Bar, Father.”
“Come here,” he said, beckoning me toward the altar.
We entered his office. Handing me a key, he said: “This key opens that door into my library. You can go there anytime, even through the back door. There is a bed, table, toilet and bath in there. Use it as long as you want.”
I got the key and said: “Thank you, Father.”
The Chapel was located on top of the highest ground in Camp Crame, with lots of bamboo trees around it. It was an ideal place for review; quiet, peaceful, and holy!
At home I had my review place under our house bedroom. Every day I went home from our review class in Arellano Law College, Pat had ten sets of queries ready for me to answer taken from previous Bar Exams compiled in a book. She rated me, and my grade was consistently 85%, more or less.
Bar Exams lasted for a month, taken every Sunday for four consecutive Sundays in the Normal School from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
